Mak + Jesse
These two were a long time coming. They are one of those relationships that everyone around them knew they would be a great couple, thought that they would fit so well together, but it just took them a little longer to see it. Their story is one of friendship turned to love, so probably the best kind of love story.
Makayla is a high school friend of Jenny’s. They grew up together, so, pretty close to the same age, give or take…we’ll let you be the judge of who is older and who is younger. Being friends since high school makes shooting this wedding all that much sweeter. Not that you need much because Mak + Jesse are two of the kindest folks around. We were so lucky to be a part of this day, but luckier to be friends with these two fools.

We never actually met Stephanie + Zach prior to their wedding. They found us through a friend and boy are we glad they did!
The two of them met during their time at Michigan Technological University, and although neither are from Copper Harbor area, “we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere but where it all started.” [how cute is that?!]
Being that we were traveling to Michigan, a favorite destination of ours, and it was Gerick’s birthday weekend, we made a whole trip of it. We camped at the Porcupine Mountains and lovingly tricked our friends / second shooters to stay at a very, very, rustic cabin in the woods. It was wonderful and we won’t soon forget that trip or the love we witnessed.

When Gerick and I first started dating, like month two, he asked if I had a financial advisor. Ha! I love that about Gerick. Anyway, enter Eric, our financial guy. And actually the “financial guy” for like 4 of our other friends too. If need a good referral, ask Gerick apparently.
Eric and Aimee are two insanely sweet humans. Kind to their core and just good people. They had their wedding up at Eric’s family cabin in Walker, Minnesota. To help keep guests socially distanced + be able to attend the reception at their own comfort level, these two decided to have a party barge in the middle of the lake. Jumping out of their wedding day duds and into their suits, everyone boated out and tied off. We ended our day with a cold beer on the water. Not a bad day at work.

Nicole + Jacob
2020 has been a trip. It’s been hard and hectic, and filled with uncertainty. But despite the uncertainty of the year, one thing remains untouched and that’s love.
Nicole + Jacob were married the weekend of Memorial Day. Despite the pandemic changing all of their plans, they made the decision to focus on the love. With just the two of them, two best friends as their witnesses, and the two of us, they tied the knot in their apartment loft in Minneapolis. On a Zoom call with all their loved ones, Nicole + Jacob spoke vows and promises, they toasted and drank champagne + they had their first dance as husband + wife right in their own living room. It was intimate and a perfect testament to their love.

Mallory + Ryan
The running joke was that their out of town family kept asking if they’d need winter boots for their October / Minnesotan wedding…sure enough. If you added hail to the forecast we might have hit every type of weather imaginable. Let’s just say it was a day we won’t soon forget. Between the fun + unpredictable weather, Ryan’s dope sock-less loafers look (the level of cool you have to have to pull this look off…damn, Ryan), and their reception with “family style” catering from Brasa (drool), it was a memorable wedding.

Molly + Charlie
Gosh. Molly and Charlie. This couple is the genuine deal. They are kind to their core. They think about each and others before themselves. They are gracious and welcoming and actually pretty big nerds. Harry Potter nerdy to be specific, but I would venture to guess Game of Thrones too. AND WE LOVE IT!
Molly + Charlie are also adventurous. [ peep the photos + video where they are just climbing around at Palisade Head in their wedding garb.] It rained on them through most of their first look, but they didn’t care. Once they saw each other…well Charlie peeked on accident [ that’s in the video too ] but once they saw one another, nothing else mattered. Their love is so strong and wonderful to witness up close and personal.

Two families. A bride with all girls and a groom with only boys. Did we just film a real life Yours, Mine, and Ours?
Being both Chad + Tammy’s second marriage, they wanted small, simple + personal. And they got it. Surrounded by all their children in the wedding party, the two shared heart felt vows. Tissues were passed amongst the crowd. No joke, photo evidence below! To end the day, we walked through a vineyard and watched the two of them dreamily stare into each others eyes and dance + laugh around the vines. Cheesy, but true..and oh so adorable!

Abby + Austin
Jenny met Abby back in their college days. Jenny went to Superior-Wisconsin while Abby attended UMD, but the two of them had mutual career moves…Plato’s Closet at one, Burning Tree Plaza. Deeply rooted in their love for thrifted items, Plato’s was the hodgepodge of clothing, customers + co-workers. It was a glorious place to work and be hungover, as often college students are.
Shooting Abby + Austin’s wedding was such a blast from the past, reuniting four ex-Plato’s employees in one spot. It was wonderful getting to be all together again and to witness the evident love shared between the happy couple. Wishing you both only the very best in this world.

Marchelle + Dan
Jenny and Marchelle are close friends who grew up together. We can answer with the semi-typical Minnesota saying, “we’ve been friends since high school.” It’s never seems more true than when your friends move away from Minnesota, because a people in other states finds often find it strange. They find it really strange when you tell them about 8 of your closest friends are your high school friends. But that’s what we are, and that’s how it’s always been. We are tight knit crew, so to shoot one of your best friends weddings is truly an honor.
The entire Elk River High School showed up for Marchelle’s wedding. Not really, but we tend to make a lot of “Elks” jokes (and yes, “Elks” is not a word technically, but we voted in 2006 and decided it was. GO ELKS!) We all flew down to Austin, Texas in the most ideal climate for midwesterners, hot AF. August in Austin is not for the faint of heart, but their wedding day could not have been more perfect. A little breeze, a little cloud cover, and the sunset put on a real show for Dan + Marchelle.
It was wonderful day, filled with so much love, friendship + drunk dancing. It will be one of our favorite memories. And the best part? All of our friends share that memory together.

Rachel + Sean
We first met Rachel + Sean at our meeting at the Birchwood Cafe. [ side note: go there. it is awesome.] We hit it off right away, but honestly, it’s really hard not to love these two. They are genuine humans with infectious happiness to them. We gabbed on for most likely too long at the meeting and each left with Netflix “To-Do’s.”
Their wedding day was as wonderful as them. Not to mention stacked with some of our favorite vendors to work alongside. [ cough: Laine Palm + team, you are all wedding wizards. cough: Jess Clewell, you are a gem to work alongside. Days are fun + easy with you and your photography is effortlessly cool. cough: Christi we will forever rave about that reception room. Outdoors…indoors! Amazing. ] Simply put, it was a terrific day and we were reminded why we love our jobs so much. A day filled with love + laughter and really great people.

Beau + Kyle
One of those couples that you instantly want to be friends with…”did we just become best friends?"
Their wedding day was basically Jenny’s boho dreams come true. From Isabeau’s unique Alexis Russell ring to their Crave sushi bar + mini tacos during cocktail hour, the entire day was laid back and plum full of love. Kyle + the boys scootered to Aria as a legit scooter gang and we basically got to hang out all day with Laine + Megan + her hubs, Taylor from Rebel Rabbit Photography. It was one of those weddings where we had a beer at cocktail hour and we look at each other and say, “this is our job?!”
Beau + Kyle, you two are just terrific humans. You’re down to earth, kind, outgoing and we couldn’t be happier for the two of you party animals. All our love.

This was a hot one. Both the weather + their love. June 29th, 2019 proved to be a warrrrmmm day, but it was also succcchhh a good day.
Kaitlyn + Dom are so clearly made for each other that it made for an easy day of capturing such an overflowing love. The way these two look at each other + laugh with one another is simply beautiful. Brit + Daniel
We met Brit and Daniel for happy hour at the Happy Gnome (rip) and they ordered lobster mac n’ cheese and we knew right then and there that it was a good match.
Their wedding was modern with a twist of edgy, draped with deep blacks, rich reds and pops of gold. Although it was a rainy December day it simply added to the moody vibes we had working for us. With a handmade wedding dress by Brit herself, and a ceremony set at dusk in a front of a roaring fire, this wedding was one for the books.

And when we find someone who’s weirdness is compatible to our, we join with them and fall in mutual weirdness…and call it love.”

Claire + Cole
We met Claire + Cole when we shot Cole’s sisters wedding a few years prior. Being able to shoot multiple weddings within one family has always been such a fun experience, especially with the Meyer family. The Meyer’s are a dancing clan, they could potentially rival Gerick’s fam. So of course Claire + Cole’s wedding day including kicking off the reception with a flash mob.
We also just so happen to share a wedding anniversary with these two. Claire + Cole knew that we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary so on top of planning their own stunning + extravagant day, they also gave us a shout out in front of all of their guests along with a bottle of bubbly. To say that we work with the kindest, funniest, greatest couples, would still be an understatement.
