Amy's Cupcake Shoppe

2017 menu catalog

 

. CLIENT NEEDS .

Amy wanted to create a catalog of all of her menu items. Something that would help illustrate to her customers the vast ability of her shoppe. The catalog would include items you could typical find daily at the bakery, as well as speciality items. A 40 page booklet to include holiday themed specials, birthday cake ideas, wedding inspiration + options for corporate gifting.

. execution .

We crafted a mockup of all 40 pages prior to shooting so we would know exactly what we needed. We had to be aware of where page cuts would be and had to leave a lot of blank space for text. Amy created nearly every item in her shoppe, so a struggle we faced was showing what we needed but not overfilling the page to make it feel cluttered. A large portion of spaced was also used to incorporate fresh ingredients into the imagery as Amy bakes everything from scratch.

New Menu Images for Website

 

. CLIENT NEEDS .

Amy wanted to freshen up her website with new + brand conscious images. Something that was simple, yet showcased all her menu items.

. execution .

We wanted her website images to be cohesive so we selected a style of packaging that we could duplicate for each sweet treat. Opting to place the items in boxes also gave the notion of ‘gifting’ and sharing Amy’s delicious baked treats.

We also included a few variations that did not include the boxes, but was more of a plated and stylized concept. Clean and simple to match the feel and style of the other images, but a different angle.

wedding blog + website

spring booklet + social media

 

. CLIENT NEEDS .

We wanted to create images that were versatile for both wedding and everyday blogging + could be used for ongoing social media needs.

. execution .

We wanted something light + airy for the spring issue. We worked a lot with lose greenery and florals that fell within their brand standards. We utilized blank space to incorporate any later needed text. We also used an assortment of glass + delicate items such as tea cups to offset our desire to use raw earth materials like driftwood, stone and agates. It was a fun play of the two mixtures.
